With a strong bezel, crown guard, screw-down crown, and colorless anti-reflective sapphire crystal on both sides, the stainless steel case of Ahoi neomatik 38 date is robustly built-and yet only measures 9.8 millimeters in height.
The golden lettering “neomatik” refers to the innovative DUW 6101 automatic movement from Deutsche Uhrenwerke NOMOS Glashutte at work within. It features a proprietary escapement, the NOMOS swing system, and a patented date mechanism with quick adjustment in both directions. To ensure top performance, Ahoi is finely regulated in six positions.
In all NOMOS calibers, the date ring is placed around the movement. In neomatik date, this caliber is particularly large. The first neomatik caliber with a date mechanism, it remains wonderfully slender. The date display can be made even clearer, and is particularly legible.
