Hand-engraved dial
Splendid engravings executed by hand extend across the surface of the galvanic silver dial and the back of the movement. Glashutte Original’s engravers wield a burin to decorate the solid gold dial blanks freehand, without the use of a pattern. The filigree decorations are not merely evidence of an enduring tradition, but give each and every watch its completely unique character.
Illusory weightlessness
Among the off-centre displays on the left side are the auxiliary dial for hour and minute as well as the Flying Tourbillon with seconds hand. More than 100 years ago, Glashutte master watchmaker Alfred Helwig gave the appearance of weightlessness to one of the most elaborate complications in haute horlogerie by mounting the tourbillon carriage on one side only. An elaborate moon phase display and the watchmaker’s signature Panorama Date feature in the right half of the dial.
Exquisite craftsmanship
The PanoLunarTourbillon is powered by the manufacture’s own automatic movement Calibre 93-12. This exquisite watch for men features a 48-hour power reserve and a completely integrated moon phase mechanism. The skeletonized rotor, positioned off-centre, has an oscillating mass in 21 carat gold. A screw-mounted decorative plate presents the engraved lettering “Flying Tourbillon”. With its eight regulation screws and ten weighted screws, the oscillating system delivers exceptional rate precision.
